Bamboo Steel Base Recall

If you purchased a Bamboo Soul Seat between April 1, 2022 and October 31, 2024, you received the message below via email. Please reach out to us at hello@ikariadesign.com if you did not receive this email and think that your Soul Seat may be affected.

“Thanks again for your recent Bamboo Soul Seat purchase!

We regret to inform you that we made a manufacturing error with several Bamboo Soul Seats, and yours may be affected.

For a brief period of time the welders at one of our metal suppliers changed their technique. Their engineers thought that this alternative weld technique would be strong enough, but it has been brought to our attention that a couple of the Bamboo Soul Seats made with this particular weld have failed. While no one has been injured from these parts failing, to be extra safe, we have decided to recall all affected Bamboo Soul Seat parts in order to replace them with our standard weld.

To determine if your metal parts need to be replaced, please take a look at the underside of your Soul Seat and compare the post with the photo below. It may be helpful to remove the perch to flip the Soul Seat over, lying it down on the butterfly cushion.

At your earliest convenience, please respond to this email to let us know if you believe your post matches the image labeled "WEAKER WELD". Please include a photo so we can confirm it needs to be replaced. We will then send you a replacement part that can be swapped out with no more than a Phillips head screwdriver (and an Allen wrench if you have an auto-adjust perch).
