What does “Work From Anywhere” really look like?

At Ikaria Design, we are dedicated to creating tools that help us preserve and regain the mobility we often took for granted in our youth.

We firmly believe that this is the era when we no longer need to painfully accommodate ourselves to the tools at hand. The field of ergonomics in the mid-1900s was the first pass at this realization. But now we can cut almost all cords and demand our tools adjust to us. If we’re unable, or simply unwilling, to sit still with the outdated standard of “90 degrees at hip and knee”, neither our work nor our bodies need to suffer.

We offer you this gift of fall colors as a spark to your imagination of what “Work From Anywhere” can mean. Do we truly remember how ubiquitous the internet cloud is when we choose where to work? In fact, it wasn’t until I typed that last sentence that I remembered I could compose this blog post from the rooftop of our facility. I nearly missed the chance to practice what I’m preaching with these last few warm days.

We designed the Flow Desk to help make the laptop, book, or journal right at hand wherever your hips choose to land. Even if it’s a dock in the middle of a beautiful pond surrounded by chirping birds and flaming autumn leaves.
